About Land Rover Cars

A specialist in four wheel drive vehicles, Land Rover is owned by Jaguar Land Rover, which is a subsidiary of the Indian car manufacturer Tata Motors. The Rover Company originally used the Land Rover name for its Land Rover Series, launched in 1948. Land Rovers are primarily manufactured at Solihull plant which is near Birmingham. However, the production of Freelander (a popular model) is done at Halewood Body & Assembly plant (formerly a Ford car plant) near Liverpool and also at Land Rover’s facility at Pune, India.

The company has plans to work on next generation vehicle technologies and has planned to open a research and development centre worth 160 million USD. Some popular Land Rover models are Freelander, Discovery, Defender, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport & Range Rover Evoque.
