About Mini Cars

MINI is an automotive brand owned by BMW, primarily specializing in small cars. The original Mini models were a line of iconic British small vehicles manufactured and sold by the British Motor Corporation from the year 1959 till 2000 after which it was bought by BMW. The previous company’s models were the Austin Seven, Morris Mini-Minor, Moke, the Countryman, Clubman and 1275GT. The company had a partnership with the racing legend John Cooper; hence the performance versions of these models used the name Cooper.

The original 2 door MINI’s production continued till 2000 after which a new generation model was launched in 2001. The current range of models includes Clubman (estate), Countryman (5 door crossover), 3 door hatchback (Hardtop/Convertible/Hatch), Roadster/Coupe and Paceman. Mini models have been active participants in rallying. The company has also participated in the World Rally Championship. The mini Cooper S has won the Monte Carlo Rally 3 times (1964, 1965, 1967). The 3rd generation Mini was launched by BMW in 2013, sales for the car started in the first half of 2014.
