About Saturn Cars

Established on 7th January 1985, the Saturn Corporation is a registered subsidiary of General Motors. The subsidiary was formed as a result of the tremendous success of automobile imports in the United States of America. The car manufacturer company marketed itself as a different kind of Car Company operating independently from the parent company. The assembly plant was located in Spring Hill, Tennessee, manufacturing unique models along with a separate retailer network of its own.

General Motors discontinued the automotive brand after Penske Automotive withdrew their bid to acquire the company in September 2009. Production of new vehicles halted on 7th October 2009 and all outstanding franchises were discontinued on 31st October, 2010. Some of the popular models are Saturn Outlook, Saturn Aura, Saturn Astra and Saturn Sky. Few of the final Saturns were considered almost identical to European Vauxhall/Opel models.
