Since the 18th century, it has been the tradition to decorate the Christmas tree with lights, candles and a variety of ornaments, not to forget the star or the angel at the top. While all of this sounds quite interesting and exciting it is not easy to transport the tree properly to your doorsteps. Below are 4 tips which would help in bringing your tree safely for Christmas.

  • Foremost, make sure that you don’t go for a Christmas tree that would not fit in your cargo area or which would be problematic to transport. The measure of a tree plays an important role in its safe delivery. To make it more convenient and easy, get the tree netted. Always keep enough ropes with you to secure the tree properly in place.
  • A proper vehicle plays a vital role in the safe transportation of the Christmas tree so make sure you have a vehicle capable for purpose. Most of people prefer placing the Christmas tree on the roof of their car, in that case ensure that the trunk of the tree is facing the front as this will reduce any damage to the tree due to the winds. Never opt for the roof for placing the tree if you don’t have a roof rack. Before tying the tree on the roof put a blanket or sheet in between to protect it from the scratching and rubbing the roof of the car.
  • People preferring to place the Christmas tree on the back of their car or the cargo area must first lower the rear car seats and also remove the hood. Before putting the tree in the van or the back of the car, ensure that you cover the seats properly to prevent any unwanted scraping and chafe due to the needles. In case of a pickup truck, put a blanket or thick sheets under the tree to avoid damage due to the hot spots in bed.
  • After securing the position of your most awaited Christmas tree, it is important to drive safely and carefully. If you have the tree on the roof racks try avoiding the highways. Make sure the position of the tree does not create any type of hindrance in your front, side and rear visibilities.  The extra weight of the tree has an impact on the center of gravity of a vehicle and hence it demands more attention towards driving and emergency handling.
