The Nissan Motor Company Ltd., shortened to “Nissan” is a multinational auto manufacturer company having its headquarters in Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Japan. The company initially marketed its vehicles under the brand name "Datsun", and is now one of the largest car manufacturers in the world. Nissan VQ engines based upon the V6 configuration have been amongst Ward's 10 Best Engines for many years. The company has almost completed the development of a unique lithium-ion battery which uses lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide cathode (NMC). It is expected to offer approximately twice the capacity of Nissan/AESC’s current manganese spinel cell. The company manufactures a range of cars and trucks for domestic consumption and also exports it throughout the world. It has also manufactured many popular sports-car models like the Datsun “Fairlady” 1500, 1600, and 2000 Roadsters series, the Z-car which is an affordable sports car, and the GT-R which is a powerful sports coupe. The company also sells Kei cars and manufactures the “Infiniti” range of luxury models.
